AccorInvest, Europe s leading hotel investor and operator (present in 27 countries), aims to digitalize all HR and financial processes and give its employees greater autonomy. To this end, it has been using the Stairwage payroll solution since September 2022. Feedback from Olga Renda-Blanche, HR Director at AccorInvest.

Why did you choose to equip your employees with an on-demand salary payment solution?

Since joining AccorInvest, my aim has been to drive forward the Group s HR strategy by modernizing and digitizing all HR and finance function processes.

My ambition is also to put people back at the heart of the organization by providing my employees with a secure environment and conditions for well-being and fulfillment. To achieve this, I ve been looking for solutions that give them greater autonomy and digital access to a whole range of HR services.

Of course, in the current inflationary climate, we also asked ourselves how we could bring comfort to certain employees in difficulty, without interfering in their private lives. It s not always easy for an employee to ask HR or their manager for an advance payment when they don t want to highlight their financial problems.

An on-demand salary payment solution very quickly appeared to us as an essential tool for freeing consciences and enabling not only employees to benefit from an advance on salary in total autonomy and anonymity, but also to lighten its processing for the relevant departments.

How does Stairwage work?

  • On the employee side, Stairwage is an easy-to-use mobile application that enables them to quickly and autonomously request an advance payment from their wages. They then receive the requested amount instantly in their bank account. This request has no impact on our cash flow, as Stairwage advances the money to our employees on our behalf.
  • On the company side, advance payments are reimbursed at the end of the month, when the payroll is distributed. Once the social partners had been convinced of the usefulness of such a solution, Stairwage was implemented very quickly. Naturally, we had first checked internally that the tool was fully compliant with RGPD and data security rules.

We initially chose France as a pilot to test it before rolling it out in other countries where our Group operates. Today, Stairwage therefore benefits all our French employees from headquarters and our hotels.
