The expert eye of Jean-Luc Barbier, ex-CEO SDWorx France
Introduce yourself in a few words
I have more than 35 years experience working for HR and payroll departments. Satisfying my customers is a key point for me, but my customers are only satisfied if their collaborators, employees and managers are satisfied!
What do you see as the next big challenges for HR departments?
Working with the new generations, attracting and retaining talent, defining a new working environment, new employee/manager relations! The employee is an employee citizen!
Employee well-being is central to a company s success. How can we contribute to improving it?
We need to consider the employee as a whole. The work/home dichotomy is broken, so the employer must provide global support. That s what will make the difference...but without being intrusive!
There s no denying that HR tech is driving the individualization of relationships and the empowerment of employees. Do you think this is a step in the right direction?
I don t know if it s going in the right direction, but it s a fact of life. Companies, via their HR departments, need to be flexible, reactive even. There s a contradiction in employee behavior: less attachment to the company but more services, including individual services... is it the war for talent that s generating this?
Do you think that HR players are ready to improve the monthly salary system and give employees more flexibility?
It s something that employees will be watching closely. It s absolutely something to take into account in the new mode of consumption, in the new relationship, flexibility and discretion: "I work, I get paid".
